Slots At Circus Circus
Posted : admin On 3/24/2022Circus Circus and Slots A Fun are located on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The casinos have no neighbors after Riviera, Stardust, New Frontier and Westward Ho were imploded to make way for developments that never materialized. This left Circus Circus and Slots A Fun to fend for themselves. The pair seem to be pulling that off as there are enough amenities on the properties to attract guests.

In an era when Las Vegas resorts were built to attract families and in particular appeal to children, the Circus Circus certainly set themselves up for this appeal. It wasn’t enough to just call the place the Circus, this was to be bigger than just a circus, it was the Circus Circus, repeating the term presumably for emphasis.
To this day, it still remains the Circus Circus both in name and in theme, and in spite of several other resorts getting away from family inspired themes, this resort has held true to its original concept, which goes to show that the family vacation in Vegas is far from dead.
The Circus Circus does indeed feature a circus, and features what is billed as the world’s greatest circus, in addition to the world’s largest indoor theme park and midway, the 5 acre Adventuredome. So if you enjoy such things, you will certainly get your money’s worth here, in addition to the vacation stay, the food, and of course the gambling that they offer.
The hotel casino was originally built in 1968 by Jay Sarno and Stanley Mallin. Sarno also built Caesar’s Palace a couple years earlier and is credited with being one of the founders of the modern day Las Vegas strip, and is also famous for his friendship with Jimmy Hoffa of the Teamsters Union, who played a significant role in bankrolling his projects.
They initially only raised $15 million for the Circus Circus, which was only enough to build a casino, but it wasn’t too long before the Teamsters ponied up a lot more, enough to build a hotel as well.
It wasn’t long before the two founders became under investigation for both their organized crime ties and their alleged taxation violations, and together with the fact that the casino was struggling, they ended up selling the property in 1974. Circus Circus Enterprises ended up building more hotel casinos, including another Circus Circus in Reno, along with several large Vegas properties, and were eventually acquired by MGM Resorts International, the current owners of the Circus Circus Las Vegas.
It has the largest permanent big top in the world, well earning their name, and also features the famous Lucky the Clown marquee at their entrance, first put up in 1976 and standing to this day, leaving no mistake as to the theme and appeal of this resort.
The Features of the Circus Circus
The Circus Circus features one of the world’s largest hotels, with three hotel towers and a motor lodge, as well as an RV park, with a total of 3,773 rooms. While this is one of Las Vegas’ longest standing big hotels, they have recently renovated and refreshed it, ensuring that it is at least somewhat up to date.
This hotel isn’t the epitome of luxury though, like some of the higher end, newer hotel resort complexes are, but it does provide good clean honest accommodations. Rates here are very reasonable and you can get a room for as little as $56 a night.
They bill themselves as providing the most value on the strip and at the very least they do provide a good deal of value, especially for budget conscious guests who are also looking for a place to take the family, where both the adults and the kids will have quite a good time.
The rooms here come well stocked with amenities, including cable TV, hair dryer, alarm clock, in room coffee service, iron and ironing board, WiFi access, and in room safe. They start at about 350 square feet, and those who need more and aren’t afraid to spend more can book one of their suites, from one bedroom to ones on multiple levels.
Circus Circus also has the strip’s only RV park, which only makes sense since they get so many family oriented business, and you can stay right in your RV and take advantage of all of the features of this property.
There are several dining options here, starting with THE Steak House, voted best steak house in Las Vegas. Burgers and Dogs is another hit here, serving up these popular foods any way you like it. The Circus Buffet provides great dining value with kids pricing also available.
The Blue Iguana serves up authentic Mexican cuisine, and the Pizzaria will take care of all your pizza cravings. The Westside Deli offers 24 hour a day sandwiches, Starbucks takes care of your coffee needs, and the Horse A Round Snack Bar will surely please the kids.
Vince Neal’s Eat Drink Party offers just what the name says, plenty of both food and drink, and 7 other bars are on hand to serve up all the drinks you can handle, including a pool bar. The pool features 3000 square feet of pool space along with a snack bar.
The circus and midway will provide plenty of entertainment for the whole family, including daily circus acts and the fun packed Adventuredome with plenty of rides on hand.
There’s also 40,000 square feet of shopping space here, as well as a full service salon, where appointments aren’t needed. They will also arrange for golf at one of four area courses. A wedding chapel and meeting facilities round out their list of features.
The Casino at the Circus Circus
This might be a circus themed hotel, but their motto is that they don’t clown around when it comes to gaming, and there are 4 separate casinos on hand for you to check out, with a total gaming space of 124,000 square feet.
In spite of being an MGM property, they don’t use the house players club, they have their own, the Circus Players Club. This club does provide good value to their players in addition to keeping to the theme of the resort.
Free lessons are provided daily for both slot players and table game players, as they appeal to a more casual crowd than most casinos in Las Vegas do, and they want to ensure that everyone has enough knowledge about the games they offer to ensure maximum fun here in the casino as well.
There are 1400 slot and table game machines here, with some of the best payouts you will find in the city. The $1 slots are a real hit with the players here, although you can play as low as a penny a pull and as high as $25 per spin. There are plenty of video poker and keno machines also on site for your enjoyment.
The table game area here is smaller, but do have 40 different tables, including single and double deck blackjack, virtual and live craps, virtual and live roulette, and Let It Ride. Given the type of players they get here, they do stay away from some of the less popular casino games, and mostly stick with the basic ones, but what they do have is plenty to keep most casino players happy.
Their recently remodeled race and sports book is very nice, with very comfortable furniture and seating, and 32 large high definition screens which you can watch all the action on.
This is more of a slot players casino though, and there’s no poker room here, but for many casino players, especially the family oriented ones, their casino offers plenty of action.
Circus Circus Las Vegas is indeed a family hotel casino, and one of the few genuine ones left, so this is the crowd they have always appealed to and continue to appeal to, but it’s hard to imagine a place in town that even comes close to entertaining the whole family as this hotel casino does.
