A new poll from inside socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) 14th congressional district has found that among registered voters, the far-left congresswoman is deeply unpopular.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., may be popular with the Democratic Party's far-left activist wing, but not as much in her home state, according to new poll numbers.A poll released Monday by the Siena College Research Institute found that AOC's favorability was at 31 percent, while her unfavorability was 13 points higher, at 44 percent.' Aug 06, 2007 I am not saying the Honorable Representative Ocasio-Cortez is ill equipped for the job as a whole, but I agree with her assessment. Personally, I would like to see Speaker Adam Schiff. His ability to provide meaningful and substantive public statements was showcased during the impeachment hearings. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, photo courtesy of the office of Rep. Radical socialist Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been blaming more centrist Democrats for the party’s failure to maintain its wide majority in the House of representatives. But not all the moderates are wilting in front of AOC’s star power. Joe Biden is claiming he is the President-elect just because the media says so. But Biden got hit with a massive reality check. And that happened when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hit Joe Biden with bad news that may derail everything. As part of Joe Biden acting like he is President-elect and pressuring Donald Trump to concede. She’s a star on the national political stage, but Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is viewed skeptically back in her Queens and Bronx 14th Congressional District, according to a.

The door-to-door poll from Stop The AOC PAC yielded the following key results:

  • They don’t like her. She has a more than 2:1 ratio of unfavorable (50.88%) to favorable (21.37%) in public opinion.
  • They don’t trust her. Only 10.75% thought she had their best interests in mind in quashing the Amazon deal – 32.60% said she didn’t.
  • They don’t want her. 33.44% are ready to vote against her, and only 13.30% would vote for her.

The poll also found that a plurality of Ocasio-Cortez’s district did not agree with her decision to sabotage the Amazon deal, which would have brought tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic activity to her district.

The final analysis from the poll stated:

Ocasio-cortez is an idiot

Facing an electorate more concerned with results than retweets, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has problems in her backyard. Despite her online notoriety and fandom in the national new progressive movement, the citizens of New York District 14 want a representative aligned with their values.

After surveying voters in 2,261 homes in the district, it’s clear Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is not the model for hope and change she sold herself to be. The opportunity for a new voice is prevalent, and the electorate is ready to take action in 2020.

The results from the Stop The AOC PAC poll are just the latest devastating numbers Ocasio-Cortez has had to face over her job performance. In March, Vox reported:

A Quinnipiac poll released on Thursday morning found that 23 percent of Americans had a favorable view of the member of Congress, while 36 percent had an unfavorable view — a -13 overall approval rating …

This new poll isn’t a one-off finding. Three prior surveys — one in January from Morning Consult, one in February from Fox, and a third in mid-March from Gallup — all found that more Americans had negative views of AOC than had positive ones.

In March, The Daily Wire also reported: “The findings of the Siena College poll of New Yorkers taken between March 10-14 prompted Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg to say, ‘Only 12 percent call her hero, while 38 percent label her a villain.'”

A recent poll revealed that crucial Democrat voters have a largely unfavorable opinion of the more radical figures in the party, including Reps. Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar.

It surveyed 1,003 “white, non-college voters” who are likely to participate in the general election.

The poll, which was obtained by Axios, showed that 74 percent of respondents were familiar with Ocasio-Cortez but only 22 percent had a favorable view of the New York Democrat. Omar fared even worse, with 53 percent of voters saying they were familiar with her. But only 9 percent viewed the Minnesota lawmaker favorably.

Axios reported that top Democrats are pointing to the poll’s results as a sign that following the policy line dictated by Ocasio-Cortez and her “squad” of liberal House freshmen – which includes Omar and Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Presley – is a tactical mistake and could cost them the House and the presidency.

The freshman Democrats have floated aggressively progressive policy proposals such as Medicare for all and the Green New Deal.

Ocasio-Cortez’s enthusiasm for socialism, meanwhile, does not seem to be shared by swing voters. According to Axios, 69 percent of respondents had an unfavorable view of socialism. On the other hand, 56 percent of voters surveyed had a favorable view of capitalism.

According to a top Democrat who is involved in 2020 congressional races, advancing socialist ideas could end up costing Democrats swing districts in 2020.

“If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk,” the source told Axios. “[S]he’s getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races. Socialism is toxic to these voters.”

It’s not the first poll showing lukewarm enthusiasm for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

In June, a Quinnipiac poll found that only 23 percent of Americans had a favorable view of Ocasio-Cortez. Polls from the Morning Consult, Fox News, and Gallup revealed a similar sentiment.

Even within the district that elected her less than a year ago, Ocasio-Cortez has had trouble earning the approval of voters. According to a poll of registered voters released in June by a political action committee that opposes Ocasio-Cortez in June, 21 percent of people in New York’s 14th Congressional District had a favorable view of Ocasio-Cortez compared to 51 percent who viewed her unfavorably.

With the 2020 election fast approaching, veteran Democrats have clashed with the upstart progressive faction headed by Ocasio-Cortez. In an interview with the New York Times last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi downplayed the influence Ocasio-Cortez and other progressives had within the party.

“All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” Pelosi said. “But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
